Artist's Comments

You don't want to run into this in the desert - a "centipede" with no legs that squirms through the soft sand. This species is Herbert's sandipede (Desertipendra frankherberti, if I remember correctly).

Don't centipedes need moisture to stay alive? How does this one deal with the arid desert conditions?
:iconsphenacodon:
Specialized with a tough, waxy cuticle, and obtains moisture from its prey. Plausible enough?
Centipedes on Spec didn't necessarily follow similar paths as they did on Home-Earth.

Centipedes as long as fingers or larger live in the inland australian deserts with no problem, I don't see how a sand-squirmer would be a problem. Especially if the sand is moist afew meters down, like in Australia's seasonal deserts.

Also, I'd love to see mud squirmers and aquatics approaching 1.5 meters in length. Potamopedes?

This reminds me somewhat of the Mongolian Death Worm.
