The Backstroke of the West!

Fri Nov 6, 2009, 8:15 AM
Sorry if you've seen it before, but I just saw it today. And it was very difficult not to laugh out loud. It's the world's worst-subtitled Revenge of the Sith. EVER.

The more astute among you may have noticed a conspicuous lack of activity on my part. Er, more than usual. The last few months have been very busy, but I can safely say that it is all drawing to a close.

Yes, I am finally leaving my undergrad years and AUB behind. By Thursday morn, I will be leaving on a jetplane* for my paleontological PhD. It'll be a five-year program at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.

Hopefully, once I'm settled down and I've got things sliding along smoothly as a well-oiled piglet, I'll finally get around to drawing, painting and blogging the way I had gotten used to.

So it's not adieu, but more of au revoir. If any of you people is in the vicinity of Ann Arbor, I'll be around. Cheerio for now!

*Don't know when I'll be back again... Oh dA, I hate to go...

Gone for 2w 3d 17h 31m 55s? That has to be a new record.

Anyway, yeah, if any of you started worrying about my whereabouts (somebody actually cares? Awww...), I wasn't at home. In fact, I was outside the country from 23rd December to January 8, digging up dead stuff in Abu Dhabi - yes, I have been doing paleontology.

I have done awesome things. I have seen sights wonderful to see. I have also done absolutely no studying whatsoever, which means that detailed accounts and irrelevant photos will have to wait as I deal with reports and exams.

PS: Cedarseed, you were absolutely right about the country all along. I bow to your superior knowledge. Too bad my trip was essentially airport-desert-airport.

Got tagged by Miyess. Might as well do it now and select other vict- I mean, taggees.

1. What does your deviant art name mean and why?
It's a Permian pelycosaur. I just like the big lug, given that it was in Zallinger's mural but - as a kid - I didn't know what it was (I could identify Dimetrodon and Edaphosaurus at the time, but not Sphenacodon).
